Amorepacific Donates ‘Upcycled Bench’ Made with Used Cosmetic Bottles

On December 2, Amorepacific delivered 8 upcycled benches made in collaboration with Sampyo Group and DCRETE to Jongno-gu Office of Seoul.

Amorepacific and Sampyo Group each donated used plastic cosmetic bottles and ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) as materials for the benches and DCRETE, which is a company that specializes in UHPC, designed and manufactured the benches. The donation was made through the commitment of companies that joined the ‘placing more bench project’ of the district office of Jongno-gu and will be made for the next 3 years to place benches in various locations.

Amorepacific, as part of its GREENCYCLE campaign, has made and installed uncycled benches using 1,400 used plastic cosmetic bottles at Chollipo Arboretum in Taean, Chungnam. GREENCYCLE is Amorepacific’s green CSR activity that recycles or upcycles used plastic cosmetic bottles into artwork.

Amorepacific plans to continue to seek creative ways to reuse resources and actively lead in resolving plastic waste issue.
