Amorepacific Hosts NBRI Symposium

  • Presentation of Skin Aging Research Conducted with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

On Wednesday, the 5th, Amorepacific held the 'NBRI (New Beauty Research Initiative) Symposium' at the Amorepacific R&I Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

During this event, Amorepacific presented the results of skin aging research conducted in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

▲Professor Se-won Kang from the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine delivered a presentation on 'Research Trends in Skin Aging.' Professor Kang introduced the current trends in skin aging research and shared the progress and future direction of studies conducted under the NBRI program. ▲Professor Anna Chien, also from the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins, presented on 'Evaluation of Epigenetic Changes Related to Skin Aging,' highlighting NBRI's epigenetic research. Her presentation included the efficacy of BioGF1K and camellia extract in regulating epigenetic changes due to photoaging, the findings of which were also shared at the Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) meeting held in Texas last month.

▲Dr. A-young Kim from the Amorepacific R&I Center shared research on 'Impact of Ginsenomics on Accelerated Skin Aging and Aging-Related Skin Regeneration.' She discussed the use of Ginsenomics in controlling skin inflammation and aging. ▲Professor Martin Alphonse from the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins presented on 'Effect of NBRI Reagents on Immune Cells and Their Role in Regulating Immunometabolic Responses to PM2.5 Exposure in PBMCs.' His presentation focused on the role of skin immune cells and identifying regulatory substances. ▲Dr. Sun-young Park from the Amorepacific R&I Center presented on 'A Senotherapeutic Ingredient, Senomune, Ameliorates Skin Aging-Associated Phenotypes,' showcasing research on controlling the activity of senescent cells in the skin using a green tea root extract developed over 30 years by Amorepacific.

Byung-fhy Suh, CTO of Amorepacific R&I Center, remarked, "It was a very meaningful time to share various research achievements related to skin aging through the NBRI program, which is operated in collaboration with world-renowned scholars. We will continue our efforts to present the finest products incorporating our research achievements, ensuring that our global customers become healthier and more beautiful."

In December 2022, Amorepacific launched the NBRI (New Beauty Research Initiative) joint research program with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Through this program, extensive research collaboration on skin aging is being conducted.
