CDP is a global initiative led by international financial institutions that runs an environmental disclosure system. It maintains the world's largest environmental action dataset based on corporate data collected annually and provides information that helps global financial institutions make decisions toward a low-carbon, sustainable society. CDP scores companies based on their response to factors including climate and water-related risks, reduction targets, leadership, and management systems, with more than 23,200 companies worldwide reporting annually.
Amorepacific has been recognized for its leadership in climate change transparency, with an A rating in the Climate Change category for three consecutive years. In Water Security, the company scored its first A rating for its efforts in efficient water use and management, circular usage, and prevention of water pollution.
Amorepacific aims to become a greenhouse gas Net-Zero-based business by 2050. With goals to reduce 90% of the 2020 level of direct and indirect emissions by 2050, the company is actively pursuing a company-wide transition to renewable energy as a part of the drive. It has completed a full transition across manufacturing facilities as well as logistics centers in Osan, Daejeon, Anseong, and Shanghai, where products for major brands under Amorepacific, including Sulwhasoo, Laneige, and Happy Bath, are manufactured. Amorepacific aims to achieve RE100 across all operations by 2025.
Amorepacific has also implemented a system to regularly manage and monitor water-related data around its facility borders and surrounding areas, including water resources and discharge. The company operates a biodegradability assessment system to identify ingredients that could minimize water pollution, working to reduce the impact products have on water after use and actively pursuing water circulation initiatives.
