Amorepacific participated in the '2026 33rd KSID Annual Meeting x 1st ISID APAC' joint conference, held by the Korean Society for Investigative Dermatology (KSID) and the Asia-Pacific Region of the International Society for Investigative Dermatology (ISID). AESTURA, Amorepacific's authentic dermocosmetic brand, served as an official sponsor of the conference, continuing its cooperation centered on dermatological science research and education at this international venue of academic exchange among Asia-Pacific dermatologists and researchers.
On April 9, AESTURA participated in the preliminary academic programs for the '2026 33rd KSID Annual Meeting x 1st ISID APAC Preview Day,' held at the Amorepacific Global Headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul. This session was designed for young researchers and key officials from international societies to share research themes and common interests, setting the stage for academic discussions that carried over into the main conference. The Amorepacific R&I Center shared its scientific perspectives with global researchers on primary topics such as the skin barrier, sensitive skin, and skin longevity, advancing research cooperation bridging industry and academia.
In the 'AMOREPACIFIC Research Talk' session, networking programs for young researchers were presented alongside the history and milestones of Amorepacific's derma beauty research. Researcher Seoyoung Kim of the Amorepacific R&I Center gave a presentation on 'Sensitive Skin: From Subjective Sensation to Quantifiable Reactivity.' She defined sensitive skin not merely as subjective symptoms, but as a trait characterized by consistent and reproducible biological reactivity. Starting from observations of genetic makeup and environmental factors, she introduced an expanded research strategy encompassing mechanism studies of barrier lipids, genetic susceptibility, the skin microbiome, and advancing to objective evaluation powered by AI. She emphasized that sensitive skin research is crossing into the realms of mechanism-centered scientific approaches and quantitative evaluation.
Researcher Byungryol Paik of the Amorepacific R&I Center also delivered a presentation on 'A New Approach to Skin Barrier Recovery: Biomimetic Technology Simulating Lamellar Bodies.' His lecture highlighted that skin barrier recovery transcends the mere supplementation of ceramide; it depends on how accurately the skin's natural barrier-forming structures can be reproduced. He explained that 'DermaON® (high-density ceramide capsule) technology' replicates the biological principles of the skin's lamellar body, making it a meaningfully technology capable of directly translating structural barrier recovery into tangible improvements in actual skin condition.
On April 10 and 11, the main sessions of the conference took place at the Westin Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Researcher A Young Kim of the Amorepacific R&I Center gave a presentation during the session titled 'The Forefront of Skin Longevity Research and the Quest for Ageless Solutions' on April 11, addressing the topic of 'Ginseng-based Skin Longevity Research: LymphanaxTM and GinsenomicsTM.' She outlined the impacts of GinsenomicsTM and Lymphanax,TM developed through the systematic analysis of active ingredients derived from ginseng, on the skin's self-defense mechanisms and recovery systems.
Directing specific focus toward chronic inflammation, diminished autophagy (self-purification) functions, and immune dysregulation, which are all identified as primary contributors to skin aging, she highlighted the potential for LymphanaxTM to positively impact immune regulation and restore weakened autophagy in inflammatory environments. In addition, research findings were shared demonstrating that GinsenomicsTM alleviated skin cell degradation in accelerated aging models induced by inflammatory cytokines and ultraviolet (UV) stimulation. Through this, she outlined future research directions based on skin longevity aimed at maintaining skin homeostasis and enhancing the long-term sustainability of skin health even under aging-promoting environmental conditions.
AESTURA welcomed participants to the 'AESTURA Lounge' throughout the academic event to showcase the brand and its derma science research to Asia-Pacific dermatologists. An AESTURA representative stated, "As an authentic dermocosmetic brand, AESTURA is committed to expanding its academic research outcomes, with a focus on sensitive skin and the skin barrier. Beyond our brand footprint, we will continue active dialogue with medical professionals and researchers as a partner in the dermatological research ecosystem."
The Korean Society for Investigative Dermatology (KSID) organized its first joint academic conference with the International Society for Investigative Dermatology Asia-Pacific Region (ISID APAC). Through its official sponsorship of this international conference, Amorepacific and AESTURA intend to further solidify their derma science partnerships with Asia-Pacific dermatologists and researchers, driving long-term academic collaboration and mutual growth. Furthermore, the company will leverage academic exchanges and joint research with global dermatological researchers to expand research under the lens of 'Holistic Longevity' solutions founded on scientific understanding in key areas such as the skin barrier, sensitive skin, and skin longevity.
