The marathon in Seoul, which was the fifth in its series, beginning in Busan in April to be followed by Gwangju in May, Daejeon in June and Daegu in September, was carried out in gorgeous pink color to denote the successful end of the campaign for this year. Over 10,000 entrants for the marathon in Seoul ran race course around Sangam World Cup Stadium wearing pink T-shirts. Models for Amore Pacific, including Kim Taehee, model for ‘Hera’, Jo Inseong, model for Laneigehomme and ‘mise en scene’ and Moon Geunyoung, model for Innisfree, took part in the marathon to encourage other marathoners, and singers such as Chae Yeon and Park Hyeonbin performed concert to entertain family entrants. Amore Pacific operated a free breast disease advice office and a breast cancer checkup bus for the examination of women deemed necessary for detail checkup of breast cancer. The sum of entry fees (10,000 Won per entrant) was donated to Korea Breast Cancer Foundation to be used for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Marathon of Pink Ribbon has been held to raise awareness of breast cancer, encourage early checkup for prevention and publicize the importance of motherhood under the auspices of Korea Breast Cancer Foundation, Amore Pacific, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Gender Equality and Korea Breast Cancer Society every year since 2001. The sum of entry fees is donated to Korea Breast Cancer Foundation to be used for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. In 2006, an amount of 273 million won raised from 27,500 entrants at five marathons was donated to Korea Breast Cancer Foundation.
